Rethinking Database Development

What is database development? Are you ever finished or is it a continuous process?
As our industry slowly recognizes that circumstaces change, the viability of a software
product will soon be measured by how well it responds to new discoveries.
This is what "development" really means: we start out with something that is our
best guess and then we develop it to meet emerging needs and changing requirements.
Agility and Lean have already proven that the ability to react to change is of paramount
importance for application development and both predict that this would be true
in the database world. So why haven't we done it? Why are databases,
largely, still built with a Waterfall process that is dressed up to look Agile?
It's because the practices that work in application development do not all apply
to databases. Even though the principles of Lean still apply, not
all of the current practices of Agility do.
DataConstructor
changes the way you develop a database. Instead of the "out with the
old, in with the new" mentality that is inherent in application development, DataConstructor
lets you easily grow new and existing databases the exact same way. With DataConstructor,
you get the tools you need to develop databases with Agility.
